How the Questrade Plus options cashback works
Questrade Plus subscribers earn $0.05 CAD cashback on every eligible US equity option contract executed. US equity options trading is already at $0 at Questrade — the cashback is money back on every eligible trade, not a discount off a fee.
You’ll earn cashback each time an eligible option contract is executed (filled). Both buy and sell orders count, and the cashback is calculated per contract, not per order. For example, an order for 10 eligible contracts will earn $0.50 CAD in cashback.
Which option contracts qualify for cashback?
You’ll earn cashback on all US equity option contracts executed on the market during standard trading hours. Orders placed pre-market or after-hours are not eligible. Cashback applies only to US equity option contracts executed on or after the date your Questrade Plus subscription becomes active.
If you subscribe to Plus mid-month, you’ll start earning cashback from your subscription date and you’ll receive your first cashback payment on or before the third business day of the following month.
Exception: To celebrate the launch of options cashback, customers who are subscribed to Questrade Plus between July 29, 2026 and July 31, 2026, will earn cashback on all eligible US equity option contracts traded for the entire month of July. The first cashback payment will be deposited to an eligible payout account on or before the third business day of August 2026.
Which accounts qualify for earning the cashback?
You can earn cashback on eligible US equity option contracts traded in all Questrade self-directed account types.
When and where you get paid
Cashback is paid as a monthly lump sum on or before the third business day of the following calendar month. The cashback is deposited in CAD to an individual Cash or Margin account; if you have more than one account, the cashback will be paid in the priority below:
Individual Cash account (if multiple, oldest first)
Individual or joint Margin account (if multiple, oldest first)
If you don’t have an eligible payout account, please open one (opens in a new tab) before the end of the month to ensure you receive your cashback payment. If no eligible account exists by the payout date, the cashback for that month may be forfeited.
If your Plus subscription ends
If you cancel Questrade Plus, you’ll continue to earn the cashback through the end of that calendar month, since you retain access to your Plus benefits until your subscription actually ends. You’ll get your final cashback payout on or before the third business day of the following month.
