The fees paid to brokers are called trailer fees. They're paid
by the fund company directly to your broker as compensation for procuring your business,
and they can be as much as 1% (or even more!) of your portfolio. All other brokers
keep this fee. Except Questrade - we're giving it back to you.
If you manage your own mutual funds, why are you paying the same management fees
as someone with a financial advisor?
At Questrade, our clients are independent investors, and we believe they shouldn't
pay these fees. While we can't make the mutual fund companies change
how they do business, we can reimburse the trailer fees back to you.
Exclusively from Questrade: the Mutual Fund Maximizer, a service
that reimburses trailer fees directly to our clients.
You don't have to register. You don't have to pay to join. In fact, if you own mutual
funds with Questrade, you are already maximizing your returns.
Maximize your RSP: The trailer fee rebate does not affect your regular RSP contribution
room. This means the Maximizer rebate is a bonus for you to top up your RSP.
