I'm not a client yet but I've already started an application (requires login). I'm a current client and I want to open an additional account (requires login).    The quickest way to open an account is with our online application. Complete applications are usually approved in 1 business day. Download the 4 steps as a PDF TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS PC computer REQUIRED: The account application was designed for PC computers only. Internet Explorer (version 6.0 or higher, Javascript enabled) RECOMMENDED: Download the latest version of Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox (version 1.5 or higher, Javascript enabled) RECOMMENDED: Download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Adobe Acrobat Reader RECOMMENDED: Download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Valid email address Please enter an email address on the first screen of the application. Note: we will use this address for all email notices regarding your account, platform(s), service upgrades. Access to printer Once you have entered all the required information, an account paperwork package will automatically be generated for you. Please ensure that you have access to a printer so you can print, complete and sign all required forms. INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED The following information will be asked from all account holders and authorized traders: Full legal name Social insurance number Citizenship and passport if non-Canadian citizen Residential and mailing address Phone Email address Employer name, address and phone, or source of income if not employed Financial information (annual income, liquid net worth, and total net worth) Once the above information is compiled, our online application will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Corporate, partnership and other organization applications may take longer.

MAIL DOCUMENTS TO QUESTRADE An account paperwork package will be provided for you at the end of the application process. Complete and sign all required forms in the package, and provide any additional documents that are listed in your checklist. In order to start trading, you will need to fund your account. Accounts must be fully funded before trades can be placed. NOTE: The fastest ways to fund your account are through internet banking direct deposit or by certified cheque. To inquire about the status of a new account please login to myQuestrade or contact client support services through live help, or phone 1-888-QUEST-66 (1-888-783-7866), Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. EST. Begin trading your stocks and options account with a minimum deposit of $1000 net equity in freely transferable securities or other acceptable deposits. A minimum balance of $250 in equity or account value is required to keep your account in good standing. A minimum cash balance of $25,000 is required to write/sell uncovered options. A minimum of $5,000 of account equity is required to trade option spreads and straddles. Remember: all stocks and options accounts begin with a number (ie. 1ABCD2) The minimum deposit for a forex mini account is USD $250. The minimum deposit for a forex standard account is USD $2500. Note: all foreign currency accounts are USD-based. Remember: all forex accounts begin with a letter (ie. ABCDE1).

NEXT STEPS... As soon as step 1 is complete when you are prompted to print your finished application an account number will automatically be generated. You can fund your account as soon as you receive the account number. Note: when you print the application to send to us, don't forget to print a 2nd copy for your records. As soon as step 2 is complete, a client services specialist will contact you with your password for our client portal, myQuestrade. Once we have received your completed application and paperwork, and your account has been funded and approved, we will contact you again with a trading ID and password for the platform of your choice. For security purposes, we highly recommend you assign a new password to your account(s) during your first login. Please read Questrade's policies on security and privacy for information on selecting a strong password. Remember, you can check the status of your account at any time by logging in to myQuestrade.
